Ideas For Spending Some Quality Time With Your Significant Other
At the start of your relationship, you probably spend lots of time together. With hectic schedules, when you are past the dating stage, sometimes it can feel like you barely spend any time together.
Sure, you see each other every morning at breakfast, or at dinner, but you don’t get a chance to spend any quality time together. This is especially true if you have little ones running about when you have a family, often you own relationship takes a back seat.
It might be a struggle to find some free time for you and your partner, but once you do, here are a few ideas of things you could do.
Go for brunch
If you only have a couple of hours spare at the weekend, why not head out for brunch, just the two of you. It might not be dinner in a swanky restaurant, but as long as you are spending some quality time together, that’s all that matters.
Chat about the things you used to do, the places you’ve been together, as well as the places you want to go. Avoid talking about work, bills and kids, spend your time together focusing on your relationship.
Have a spa treatment
There is nothing more relaxing than having a spa treatment, especially when it’s a couples treatment. Spending an hour or two being pampered together is the perfect way to spend your free time; it’s relaxing and intimate.
If you can’t afford to head to a spa, why not bring the spa to you. That’s right, there are now companies that offer whole home spa experiences that you can do yourselves. Spending the morning massaging each other has to be one of the best ways to spend some quality time with each other.
Have a movie night
If the only time you can spare is a couple of hours after the kids have gone to bed, that’s okay, why not plan a movie night.
Pick up a couple of your favorite DVDs, a bottle of wine, and some tea lights, and transform your lounge into a romantic movie theater. Just make sure not to have the volume too high, otherwise you will have the kids wanting to join in.
Cook together
It might not be glamorous, but cooking together is the perfect activity for spending time together. Block an evening out of your schedule, put the kids to bed early and spend the evening cooking together.
Whether that’s making homemade pizzas, hand crafting cupcakes or cooking a gourmet meal, it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that you have a chance to spend some much-needed one-on-one time together.
Go on a romantic break
If you can bribe someone into looking after your little ones for the weekend, why not plan a romantic break away? Book a room at a grand hotel and spend a couple of nights living it up in the lap of luxury. There’s nothing more romantic that a luxurious hotel room, so taking a break is perfect. Getting away for a couple of nights will not only give you some time to yourselves, but will also allow you to relax.
The key to making your relationship work is spending time together as a couple. While you might have hectic schedules and children to care for, making room to spend time with your partner is a must.
