Many individuals are lucky enough to find their soul mates during college, and those who don’t follow closely behind after graduating. But how do you find your soul mate? How do you get the one who is the perfect fit for you?
The Law of Attraction can be used for just about anything, so here are a few ways to get you started attracting that one-of-a-kind person for you:
It is always a good idea to write down what you are looking for in a happy and healthy relationship. Think about your past relationships and what you liked/loved about them. What did you like about your partner that you will definitely want to see in the next partner? You can even think about what you wished your past significant others did and that way you can add that to the list of what you want and expect in a happy and healthy relationship.
Now this next part is very important. Do NOT focus on the negative things that have happened in past relationships, because that is what you will attract. If you are still bitter from past wrongs and hurts, you will need to resolve them before you move on. Otherwise you will only get what you put the most focus and energy on your negative experiences.
Be the Person You Want to Attract
Now I’m sure we have all heard Lyfe Jennings’ song “Statistics,” and if you haven’t then please go give it a listen. In the last line of the chorus Lyfe tells his (mainly) female audience to “Be the person that you want to find, don’t be a nickel out here looking for a dime.” Be prepared to be on the same level or at least in the same ballpark as the partner you’re requesting. You can’t be America’s biggest ball of insecurities and expect a partner who is faithful, honest, and confident to actually stay with you.
If you are not comfortable in your own skin and love who you are, what in the world makes you think that you’re going find someone who will? Now that’s not to say men and women haven’t found these wonderful people before, but after a while your insecurities and hang-ups will push them away. You have to be ready to make the changes necessary to attract the partner you want. If not, you will keep attracting people who are more on your level.
There have been a few Dateline specials and countless forums held about black women having issues with dating outside their race, but who's to say whether your dream guy will be in a different package than you expected? Or how do you know that the art gala you never go to isn’t swarming with people on a higher level with more similarities with you than you thought possible?
Life is a beautiful and surprising experience, so don’t ruin it with a closed-minded outlook. Try your very best to enjoy what unfolds before you.
So there you have it, a few ways to start the process of the Law of Attraction. Once you get it together and you attract that oh-so-special someone, just sit back and be blown away at what you brought into your life. Good luck!
