Yoga is one of the best ways to become fit, healthy, and flexible. Personally, I prefer hot yoga. There’s something about the heat that makes it that much more soothing. The best feeling comes at the end when the door is opened, and that cool breeze comes through the door as you’re laying on your mat, wondering how you’ve managed to get through the class. If you’re a newbie to hot yoga, here’s 5 essentials you’ll want to have with you for class.

1. Yoga Pants

We can’t create a yoga list without yoga pants, of course! So, first on my list is the Under Armour Women’s UA StudioLux® Quattro FlareI can personally vouch for Under Armour and the fantastic quality they provide. If you know you’re in it for the long run, then it’s a good idea to invest in some good quality pieces. It’s better to have a few quality pieces than several pieces that will only last you a month.

2. Yoga Mat

Gaiam is a popular brand in the yoga world due to all the great yoga accessories they create. If you’re new to yoga and aren’t sure that you’ll stand by it for a while, you’ll want to start off with a mat such as the Gaiam Print Yoga Mat. Not only does it come in various beautiful prints, but it’s also inexpensive with a good enough quality to give yoga a test run. They even have the Gaiam Yoga Kit For Beginners, which includes a yoga mat, a strap, a block, and a DVD to start practicing at home with.

3. Yoga Mat Towel

If you’ve ever taken hot yoga before, you know how hot and sweaty it can get. Hence, this Gaiam Grippy Yoga Mat Towel is one accessory you don’t want to forget. It’ll prevent sweaty palms and toes from slipping on the yoga mat. What’s great is that it comes in some really vivid colors and patterns to go well with your yoga mat.

4. Filtered Water Bottle

When you’re in that heated hot yoga room, you most definitely want to have a water bottle near by. You’ll be regretting it, if you don’t! Of course, most yoga studios will provide water bottles for sale, but it’s honestly better to invest in a good quality filtered water bottle that will last you some time, while providing you clean water at any time. The Brita Hard Sided Water Filter Bottle is a great one to start off with. The one pictured is actually Eva Longoria’s design to support the Drink Up Campaign.

5. Yoga Mat Bag

Last on my list is the Gaiam Printed Yoga Mat BagTrust me, you don’t want to be lugging around a yoga mat. A yoga mat bag will make it easier to carry your mat around without the hassle. Gaiam provides a number of beautiful patterns that you’ll absolutely love as much as I do! This specific bag even includes a cargo pocket where you can carry some essentials, such as your car keys.

If you’re ready to take your bum to yoga class, make sure to have these hot yoga beginner essentials with you. They’ll make your life a little easier and your yoga experience more rewarding.
