It would be fantastic if your career always went the way you wanted it to. For a few lucky people, it always does. But for many of us, we're not satisfied a lot of the time, and we have to take charge to do something about it. Sometimes you feel like you can't even say you have a career because you're just doing a job to get by. Or perhaps you started in a role you thought would help you get where you want to be, but you realize it's not what you're looking for. If you know that your job or even your chosen career path is making you miserable, don't just put up with it. You have to do something to make a change. But what are your options?
Look for a New Employer
The first thing you need to determine is whether you're unhappy with your career or just with your job. If you love the industry you work in, but you can't stand your current role, it might be time for a change in employer. Sometimes if you're working for the wrong company, it can be so easy to forget why you wanted your career in the first place. Perhaps you're sure you wish to be a teacher, but you can't put up with the management at your current school. If you're unhappy, don't sit around waiting for something to change. It's up to you to either make changes in your current role or find a new one.
If you're no longer satisfied with your chosen career or you're stuck in a job that won't go anywhere, it's time for a new path. Without retraining or going back into education, you can think about what skills and experience you already have. You're sure to have plenty of knowledge and ability that you can apply to different roles and industries. For example, if you've worked in a store, you might have sales and communication skills, as well as technical ones like using a cash register or taking stock. You can apply them to many other jobs, not just retail roles.

Go Back to Education
Perhaps you've had a rethink, and you want to change to a radically different career. In this case, you might need to go back to school. That doesn't necessarily mean that you need to go to college, however. Perhaps you can take a night class while you're working or work part-time while you attend a course. Furthering your education could open lots of new doors for you.
You might like the idea of being your own boss. If you're thinking about becoming self-employed, consider it carefully. You could launch a business offering a product or service you think people need. Another option is to buy a franchise or become a sales representative for an existing company. With programs like Total Life Changes training, you can create a second income to bring in extra cash and make your work life more enjoyable. Or you could work extremely hard to make it your primary source of money.
If you're bored of your current job, don't resign yourself to being stuck. Do something about it and make some changes so you can be happier.
