Who doesn’t get stressed from time to time? Stress is a natural part of life. While stress is usually considered a bad thing, I think it can be positive too. Stress motivated me to create Miss Millennia Magazine when I was stressed about life outside of college. Stress is an emotion that motivates you to do something, whether that’s exercise, turn in an assignment, or get a job. And no one does anything without being motivated in one way or another.
The issue you run into with stress is when you don’t or can’t do anything about a certain stressor. For example, being stressed about debt without having a clue on how to get out of it. That is the kind of stress that keeps you up at night. The stress that I dealt with also kept me up at night. I would lie in bed and think about all the stuff I forgot to do that day and all the stuff I had to do the next day. So I decided to do something about it.
My Stress Relief Ritual
My stress relief ritual started by me looking for Natural/Homeopathic ways to relieve stress so I can sleep at night and not feel groggy in the morning. During my research, I found RESCUE products. I used the RESCUE Sleep Liquid Melts because they melt right on your tongue. The pills also come in pearls and pastilles, but I liked the ease of just dropping it on your mouth and being done with it. I also liked that they are non-habit forming and also did not have any side effects. I just purchased it from Walgreens on my way home from work, so it was pretty convenient too.
Right before bed I take one of the RESCUE liquid melts and I meditate with it in my mouth for about 15 minutes. This gives the liquid melt the opportunity to kick in and gives me the opportunity to help in quieting my mind. Ever since I’ve started this practice, falling asleep at night has really become a problem of the past for me.
Stress is always going to play a big role in my life. As I mentioned before, it is like the fuel that gets the fire burning inside of us so we can make changes. But there is a time and place for everything, and bed time is a time to rest, not stress. What do you do to manage your stress? Let us know it in the comments below.
