“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening,” as stated by Coco Chanel, and she could not be any more correct. Fashion is a way of life, and this month’s lady lennia, Ashlee Kerner is a living example of that. With a degree in Fashion Merchandising, Ashlee is proof that fashion is more than just her job as a fashion merchandiser, her travels to prominent fashion cities, and her own personal fashion projects. Ashlee not only works in the fashion industry, but is inspired by it, and respects it. She shares the importance of fashion as an industry and a culture with her family and friends, and now to the women of Miss Millennia Magazine.
Are you in, or have you gone to college? If so, when did you graduate or what is your expected graduation date?
Graduated from College, May 2011
What is your area of study? If you are not enrolled in school, then what alternative did you take to put yourself on the road to accomplishing your dreams?
What is your age?
What has been your biggest struggle in achieving your goals? How are you overcoming it?
The biggest struggle is finding a job that I am interested in and to get paid well for. I am overcoming it by applying to as many places as possible and really trying not to sell myself short even if the job seems a bit advanced for me. I need a challenge!
What inspires you?
When I see young people making a difference and it doesn’t have to be in fashion. I love seeing our generation doing something great with their life. It makes me want to be a better person.
Do you feel like you can inspire women in their 20’s and 30’s? If so how would you go about doing this?
I feel like I can inspire women because I have a lot of heart. I come from a small town but I want to be able to stand out also. I am very personable and love being able to talk to others.
Who does Lady Lennia represent to you?
A confident woman who knows what she wants and strives for nothing but the best.
Why would you make a great Lady Lennia for the Fashion Edition?
I would make a great Lady Lennia because I feel like I am at one of the best parts of my life. I just graduated college with a fashion degree so I can offer advice to fellow college students and for students seeking colleges as well. I love being able to connect with people and providing them with fashion advice (I do for my family and friends already). I have been to multiple fashion places in New York a couple of years ago and I would love to share with other fashionistas about my experience:)
