Read her interview below:

Miss Millennia Magazine (MMM): What is your education/experience?

Michelle Rosado (MR): After high school I attended a business school in New York City and majored in computer programming and business writing. In 1993 I began my career on Wall Street at the Latin America Capital Markets trading desk for JP Morgan. In 1994 I worked in the Correspondent Clearing Department at Bear Stearns Securities Corp. and in 1999 I became an investment associate for Fiduciary Trust Co. International, an investment banking firm located in the World Trade Center. In 2000 I transferred to the marketing department and enrolled at New York University for a certificate in web design, while taking classes at the New York Institute of Photography.

MMM: What do you love most about your profession?

MR: What I love most about being a professional speaker and mentor is the freedom to express myself in ways that resonate with the thoughts of others, while helping them inspire and empower themselves.

MMM: What advice would you give to women interested in becoming an author?

MR: One piece of advice I could share is if you are interested in becoming an author, take the time to look within and ask, “What is the premise of my writing? Do I want the message to benefit others, myself or both?” There you will find the answers and future topics of your future writings.

MMM: Who has impacted you the most in your career and how?

MR: The person who has made an unforgettable impact on my career was my husband, Randy Rosado. While I was still working at corporate America he recognized my entrepreneurial spirit and encouraged me to launch my speaking career and mentoring program. Since then Randy’s been extremely supportive in my work and has been a major part of my success.

MMM: Did you ever have any doubts about what you were doing?

MR: Before 9/11, I had many doubts as to the decisions I was making in my career and relationships, my transition from finance to marketing, etc. After the tragedy, however, I’ve found that when we live in our present moment, we are guided by intuition and never have to doubt anything we do.

MMM: You are a survivor (of a horrific event), what advice would you give to other survivors struggling to recuperate?

MR: One’s experience with a horrific tragedy is no more or less significant than any other, which in turn makes us ONE. We all have the innate power to heal and overcome any adversity we may face. Each moment of each day brings a refreshing newness to our lives, if we are open to embracing life’s journey.

MMM: And what advice would you give to women who wants to become a public, inspirational speaker? Why?

MR: My advice would be to see oneself as an individual with a unique story to share with the world. Back in 2004 when I began doing sales presentations I read the book, “Working the Room” by Geoff Dyer. He stressed the importance of not only connecting with the audience, but building a relationship with each person in that audience.

MMM: What would you tell women in college now?

MR: During your time in college, take time to nurture your well-being as well as your mind. Know that is your time to be whomever you wish.

MMM: What do you think the key to success is?

MR: I believe the key to success is having the awareness to know the true Being you are, and not letting circumstances determine your reality.

MMM: Finally, where do you see yourself five years from now?

MR: In five years, I envision myself releasing another book, possibly having a radio show, and continuing to do lectures around the world.

MMM: Anything else you’d like to add?

MR: My co-authored book, “Pursuing Your Destiny: How to Overcome Adversity and Achieve Your Dreams,” my speaking and mentoring services, can all be found on my website.
