Each day, you get out of bed, throw on some clothes, and head off to work. How does your job make you feel? If the thought of going to the office tomorrow makes you sad, something is wrong. It's not that you need to joyously leap out of bed, but you shouldn't hate your job either. If you have been considering a career change, it's not too late. Finding the right career for you might take some time, but when you get your dream job, it will all be worthwhile.
Not everybody shares the same dreams
Are you following someone else's dream? If you have based your career on someone else's ideas, you will never be happy. Even if you reach the peak of your career, you will feel like you have wasted your time. Some people adore the idea of being an actor, for example, while others would hate the job. It’s okay to say no to a job. You need to figure out what works for you – forget what anybody else thinks. If you feel as though other people are dictating your life, you need to tell them to back off. Only you can decide what you want. Don't let anyone try to force their idea of perfection on you.
Some people take a totally alternative route to the traditional career, even starting their own businesses in some instances. In fact, there has never been a better time to take an alternative route — technology has created opportunities that didn’t exist a few decades ago. People are ditching the well-established path in favour of pursuing work on their own terms. One such pioneer of this alternative thinking in the business space is an entrepreneur that goes by the name of Sam Ovens. Sam created a consulting training course that teaches people how to start a location-independent business by using skills they already have to solve problems for other people. He has since helped hundreds of people quit their office jobs and build wildly profitable consulting businesses. The internet has truly created incredible opportunities for alternative means of work. So don’t feel like you have to fit in someone else’s box!”

Millennials are career-hoppers
When our grandparents were young, there was only one way to get a job. You would start at the bottom and spend your entire life climbing the ladder. Nowadays, things are a little different. It's not uncommon for someone our age to have two, three or even four different careers in their lifetime. There is not one linear way of getting a job to suit you. You might try loads of different roles before you settle on a career. That is okay! So long as you work hard and make the best of each job, you will be a success.
Everybody makes mistakes
You must never be afraid to change your mind. You are human, and you will make mistakes. If you start pursuing a career and realize that it's not quite right for you—you can change your mind. Sometimes people stress about what others will think. It doesn't matter what people say or think. What matters is your happiness. You can only be truly happy when you find a role that suits you and fulfills your potential. If you are heading in the wrong direction, change the path you are on right now.

You can do whatever you want with your life. When you stop worrying about what people expect of you, you can do almost anything. Decide what you want to do and don't be afraid to go for it.
