Sure, the light and mist function works separately, you can turn off the light by long pressing the LIGHT button about 2 seconds.

How long does this diffuser last on continuous use?

With full 500 ml water, strong mist can last 10 hours, weak mist can last 18 hours.

Can I use the diffuser without adding essential oils?

Yes, the oils are optional, you can use it without oils. It just like a humidifier without the oils.

Is it easy to clean?

Yes, the wide and large water tank is very easy to clean, just add some warm water and diluted vinegar, and lay it aside for 15 minutes, then use a wet cotton swab to clean the middle white disc of the tank. Then wipe with a soft cloth.

Is it quiet? I'm a light sleeper.

The noise level of this diffuser is only 23 dB, the ultra-quiet fan can effectively reduce noise. It won't disturb you at night.

But you can use so many essential oils and oils non essential. Whatever you like - Just add preferably distilled water and few drops of your favorite oil. Using the remote is simple and you start it can be set for continuous flow or intermittent various nice soft colors to chose from - Also settings for full flow or light flow of essence. A timer you can set. Really a plus having the remote. Easy to set up - if you watch for sale price an even better deal. Once you have the unit you can go online and get a 2 year warranty. If indeed you use a diffuser I highly suggest this diffuser...You'll be happy with the style purchase and style and overall experience. May get a couple more as gifts! Would make a really nice gift with many essential oils available on Amazon. When used correctly (cleaned every 3 days, water just below the top line cause I'm overly cautious, nothing underneath it) I haven't had any issues. It shuts off when empty, puts out a thick steam, and smells lovely. The colors are bright and acted as a good reading light when my SO was asleep. It's potent so not much essential oil is needed. I've really liked this product so far and haven't had any issues.

Update: I must have allowed water to seep into the NON DRAIN side and temporarily drown the internal mechanisms. I let it sit overnight and this morning it works just fine. So happy! It’s not the most sophisticated operating or looking thing but it holds a lot of water, shuts off automatically, puts moisture into the air, and lights up the counter with various colors. It’s not that expensive so if it dies forever, oh well. But glad it’s working again.

3 months owning: Dumped water. Wiped with dry paper towel. Filled it and heard the 2 beeps but it will not turn on. Dead forever.

After purchase: It is 100% silent unlike other diffusers that sound like a dripping sink. We never buy diffusers for the oils that come with them but these aren't too bad. It changes colors so that's interesting. Holds a ton of water. Turns off by itself with one non-obnoxious beep to let you know it turned off. Cannot complain at all. Would give as a gift knowing they will not have any issues whatsoever.

I've been using essential oils professionally for about 15 years as a licensed and nationally board certified acupuncturist and herbalist. I took a year long course in the medical use of essential oils with the Taoist priest who was the Academic Dean and a teacher at The Swedish Institute where I got my professional degree in Taoist acupuncture.

I used a smaller, older aromatherapy machine in my office and then bought two more of those for our home.

I wanted a machine I could control from my bed at night so I bought this larger machine with a much bigger water reservoir and several more functions on it than my previous aromatherapy diffusers.

I am SO HAPPY with this purchase! It's SO EASY to put together and SO EASY to use, that I immediately turned around and bought a second one for my husband's office.

I needed a larger reservoir machine that could basically run on an intermittent (10 seconds on, 10 seconds off) setting for 24 to 36 hours, which this machine can do. I needed this because I needed to diffuse essential oils that had been shown in top quality NIH research to destroy even MRSA- and MRSP-resistant bacteria because my beloved Service Dog had a serious skin infection, and being an infectious disease specialist in Chinese medicine, I did not want to risk getting an infection from the rather demanding care regime that I'd developed for my dog.

I am SO HAPPY with this purchase! Obviously, I recommend this product highly. No muss, no fuss, so easy to use. And the remote control makes it so much easier to use at night when we're in bed. No more getting up to make adjustments or add more water or essential oils.

And I love that I can choose one color, either at a bright or dim setting, or select a rotation of all the colors of the visible spectrum ("Roy G Biv" = a mnemonic for Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet). The colors of light are quite beautiful.

It's also very quiet to operate, which is helpful since we run it while we are sleeping.

This is an update. The seller reached out immediately and offered to replace. I had the new unit within days and it works great. We like that it is easy to care for and runs a long time then automatically shuts off. Their customer service personnel were great!

I've had a few aromatherapy units and this one by far is the best one. Super Easy to use. Super easy to Setup and clean. Scents travel a good distance from the unit and cover the entire room instead of one foot from the unit... Colors can change at random which is very pleasant or select your favorite and leave it alone. The timer is also excellent and I really appreciate the auto shutoff. Highly Recommended.
