These are replacing my first (or second?) set of flexible cutting boards. These are an inch narrower (width-wise) than the ones these are replacing. I probably won't notice the size much, but I do like larger mats when trimming a package of chicken breasts, forming several hamburger patties, etc. Also, my previous set (different maker) had a small picture in each corner so you could consistently use the same color for the same food type, e.g. yellow for chicken, red for beef, blue for fish, and green for produce. These don't have any images, and the green is a very yellow-green, so it's hard to quickly tell which one is the green one for produce vs yellow for poultry (the two I use the most) These are thicker and sturdier than the ones they're replacing, so that's good. Since they seem well made and durable, I've given them 5 stars in spite of my little nits.

I Don't Get the Complaints

I've had plastic cutting board/sheets going back to the late 90s. They were easy to shear with a knife and I protected them as much as I thought they needed to be -- not too sharp, no meat cleavers, etcetera.

Given some of the complaints about these? I hesitated but now? I dispute those. These are stable on FORMICA (!) and don't slide for me, at least with the little dot adherents on the reverse side so you cannot use both sides like we did in the early 90s. Minimal cut marks ALWAYS show on plastic: they are plastic after all. But the cuts are not that bad. And dishwasher complaints? Honestly -- no complaints from me. A slight arc -- that's it and at this price -- recycle them to be a good earth citizen. But, that's just me! ;-)

I purchased a cheaper, thinner version years ago.
My husband and I both fell in love with them. We used them some, then we got flooded by Harvey.
We stayed in a camper and were able to find the cutting mats. Since we used only those until moving back into our home, I was excited about using a real cutting board again! Used it one time, swore I’d never use anything but a cutting mat again. My husband feels the same way.
When I first used a mat I felt like I was cutting the counter, not something I wanted to do.
A cutting board has a harder surface, the mat just didn’t feel ‘right’.
I felt like I could cut through the mat.
Then I was able to use a cutting board again. Wow, what a shock, I liked the mat better.
It is sturdy, you aren’t going to cut through it. You are cutting at counter height. Clean your counter before cutting something up, then just swipe the good part to one side & part you aren’t keeping to the other.
Cleaning them is soo easy! I have bleached them many many times. Very easy to store.
I purchased these cutting mats because they are a little thicker. Two of my old ones are warped, I don’t think these will warp after years of use.
These also have a large enough hole to grab them with, or hang them up. I like that they are marked as to what to cut on them. (Not that we pay any attention to it :)
I waited until we had used these numerous times to write a review. I wanted to make sure that they were as good as I thought they’d be. They are that and even better than I expected.
If you like cutting mats, these are the ones to get!

For the most part I really like these mats. They are heavier than others i have
gotten and of course sturdier. I am not sure if i just dont know how to clean them
or they just stain a lot. I brought in some fresh basil from my garden and was
cutting and chopping them up to put in freezer and when i went to wash them
the stain wouldnt come out I just used dish soap and water. I havent tried anything
else yet. Other than that I love them. Oh yeah they didnt slip around which i love.

I spent way too much time researching cutting boards before I bought these four multi-colored, thin plastic sheets. (Each has a different picture in one corner. As of 2020, Amazon seems to offer the same product under many different names, from many different sellers.) Eventually, I bought these because they were big and cheap, and because I was sick of sitting at the computer thinking about cutting boards. I thought they would serve my purpose until I could find The Perfect Cutting Board. It has been fun to discover that these are perfect for me.

I cook every day, but my main interest in knives lies in just not cutting myself. Cooks who are expert in buying and maintaining their knives may prefer wood or other cutting boards to these inexpensive wonders ~ but they're by far my favorite of my wood and heavy-plastic collection. Their textured back prevents sliding as I work. They are very big, providing an ideal surface to catch carrot and potato peelings. (I use the red one for carrots: no more orange stains to clean off my white counter tops!) They are sturdy, yet they bend, which makes it easy for me to carry chopped ingredients over to the stove, and to pour them into the pot. Unlike my half-inch thick plastic boards from a brand-name maker, these aren't getting rough to the touch as I cut on them. None of them have stained. They come out good as new from the bottom rack of the dishwasher. I wish I had known about these years ago!

if all you're going to do is chop soft veggies that have to get scooped into the stir fry - ok, they'll work., I do like the fact that you can curl the board and swipe the veggies into the pan. BUT: they are so thin, that if you are trying to cut something that requires a bit more force - because they are so thin, your wrists and fingers will receive the brunt of the force - especially if the mat is on top of a granite counter top, My other complaint - after only using a few times of slicing peppers and onions using a serated knife - is that the mats have dents in them after i'm done - and believe me, i don't use excessive force when slicing my veggies as my arthritis doesn't allow.
