When I first heard about Natalie, I was under the impression that she had a blog, shetakesontheworld.com,  that took off and led her to success. Little did I know that this was not her first business and definitely not even the peak of her success! She won an Emmy award for producing Out My Window, an interactive documentary by the National Film Board. She has appeared inForbes.comForbesWomanWall Street JournalEntrepreneur.comMashable.comExaminer.comFinancial PostTechVibesExchange Magazine, andPersonal Branding Magazine. Talk about accomplishments! We are so excited to have Natalie as our Lady Lennia this month and believe that she is a true example of if you can believe it you can achieve it. Meet Natalie!

What is the name of your business and how long have you been in business?

She Takes on the World Inc. is brand new as an incorporated company but SheTakesOnTheWorld.com is 4 years old. It started out as my personal blog then took on a life of its own.

Are you in, or have you gone to college? If so, when did you graduate or what is your expected graduation date?

I graduated from the University of Waterloo (in Canada) in 2008.

What is your area of study? If you are not enrolled in school, then what alternative did you take to put yourself on the road to accomplishing your dreams?

I studied Business and Political Science. I liked it because I feel I got a solid well-rounded education.

What is your age?

Just turned 26!

What has been your biggest struggle in achieving your goals? How are you overcoming it?

My  biggest challenge is always my impatience. I’m the kind of person who wants everything done yesterday. I’m learning how to appreciate the journey towards each goal just as much as the destination though :-)

What inspires you?

I find inspiration in everything from looking up at the vast sky to engaging in conversations with people. Inspiration comes at you from all angles and in all situations if you’re open to it!

What will you write about for the blog?

Finding your passion, loving what you do, building your personal brand, and all the ups and downs of starting and running your own business.

Do you feel like you can inspire women in their 20′s and 30′s? If so how would you go about doing this?

Yes! I believe I have an inspiring story to share. Just a few years ago I was still a student planting the seeds for my own business and now I’m an Emmy Award-winning Media Producer and my first book is coming out this month (She Takes on the World: A Guide to Being Your Own Boss, Working Happy, and Living on Purpose). I’m living proof that no dream is too big!

Who does Lady Lennia represent to you?

A strong, independent woman who wants to leave her mark on the world.

Why would you make a great Lady Lennia for the Entrepreneurship edition?

I live and breathe entrepreneurship. I have always been entrepreneurial, even as a child, and today I run a successful company and help others do the same. I am also the Co-founder of YEC Women, an initiative of the Young Entrepreneur Council that provides mentorship and resources to entrepreneurs. YEC Women members are some of the world’s top young female entrepreneurs.
